Blog Post #1

My name is Candace Buzbee. I am 21 years old. My birthday is September 29th. I am a junior at USA. I am going to be a Special Education teacher. I try and help with the Special Olympics every year. I love being around children and to help them learn new things. I have one older brother named Ryan, who is one of my best friends. I live in Dauphin Island and I love it because I am walking distance from the beach. I love to read any books. I am obsessed with coffee I have to have it every morning or I will have a headache.

Randy Pausch Time Management:

I learned from Randy Pausch that people are more worried about money then they are worried about time management. I also learned that making lists are the best way to manage your time. You should make a list when you wake up in the morning for that day, the rest of the week, and for the rest of the semester. You can change your lists, but if you do not make a list you cannot change it. When you are making your lists be specific in what you have to do. Using a planner is a really good way to keep up with all your assignments or appointments in one book.

  1. Candace,

Nice post. I like what you mentioned about most people being more concerned about money than time management. Perhaps if we switched that around and became more concerned about managing well our time, we might be in a position to earn more money. I don't know. I haven't read Randy Pausch. Does that sound like something he would believe?

I like to make lists, as well. I always have a Google Doc sporting my short-term "To Do" list. I love to be able to scratch out a couple of items each day. I do cross them off, rather than delete them. That way I am reminded of what I have accomplished.

I saw a very funny photo today that you might like, since you are obsessed with coffee. Dawn, in the #T365Project group took it. Here it is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dawnps/6794061589/

I have a suggestion you might want to consider. My eyes are not as young as yours, but the pink, thick font on your blog is not easy to read. I would suggest an easy-to-read font that will make your readers glad to be there!

    Sincerely,
    Denise Krebs

  2. Make a list!

I agree with Denise. The pink makes your text extremely difficult to read. I am even older than Denise. Maybe that's why. Do consider changing the color of the text. Black works very well. If you need help in learning how to do that, consult Google help. Or, even better, ask for help in the lab.

  3. I want to thank each of you for the comments. I understand about the pink, I changed it to black like requested.

    Mrs. Denise,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. Also thanks for sending me the link to the coffee picture it made me laugh and it is very true.

    Sincerely,
    Candace Buzbee

  4. I find it very interesting that you work with the children who participate in the Special Olympics. I think that is so cool. As for time management is concerned, I believe you are right about creating the lists. I have a planner that I absolutely (almost) live by. I know that it took me a while to actually learn what kind of set-up would be best for me to best manage my time. I felt as though, your introduction could have been a little longer but I know not everyone is up to sharing personal business. Overall, the blog looks great but the pink is a little distracting and the boldness of the lettering sort of makes it hard to read. Then again, it could be me. I still have to go to the eye doctor :) All in all...GREAT JOB!

  5. Candance,
My name is Kai Lopez and I am assigned to you for the first C4C project. That is awesome that you help out for the Special Olympics every year, there needs to be more people like you in the world. I also like being around children too, I have two younger brothers that I like being around and enjoying being a role model for them.

I agree with you on people being more worried about money than time management, because if you asked people what is more important they would most likely say money. Also I think using a planner is a great idea to help keep up with assignments and appointments for the day. I have recently purchased a planner to help me do so and it has been hard to adjust to but I think I am starting to get the hang of it.
